Envisioning Sustainability is a collection of his essays, talks, diatribes, and articles which have helped to define the bioregional movement since the early 1970s.”—Joyce Marshall, Realistic Living, A Journal on Ethics and Religion

The Biosphere and the Bioregion:  Essential Writings of Peter Berg

Edited by Cheryll Glotfelty and Eve Quesnel

The Biosphere and the Bioregion
Price: $33.95 plus Shipping & Handling

The book introduces readers to the biospheric vision and post-environmental genius of Berg. This selection of writings represents Berg's bioregional vision and its global, local, urban, and rural applications. It provides a highly accessible introduction to bioregional philosophy, making Berg's paradigm available as a guiding vision and practical "greenprint" for the twenty-first century.

The book includes the first-ever comprehensive bibliography of Berg's publications and should be of interest to students and scholars in the inter-disciplinary fields of environmental humanities, environment and sustainability studies, as well as political ecology, environmental sociology and anthropology.

The essays in this book did not appear in Berg's previous anthology, Envisioning Sustainability. They are organized by topic: Transforming Cities from Gray to Green, Bioregional Travels Around the Pacific Rim, Ecological Restoration and Rights in Ecuador, and Tributes to Peter Berg.

Devolutionary Notes

by Michael Zwerin

Devolutionary Notes

Price: $7.50 (Members $5) plus shipping & handling

Originally published by Planet Drum in 1980. Michael Zwerin writes first hand about the map-altering devolutionary movement occurring in Europe at the time

The book, with an introduction by Peter Berg, raised the questions: Is devolution like revolution? Will the new countries lean to the left, the right, or a completely new direction? Are they narrowly traditionalist? Or do they present a new vision of cultural diversity? Follow Zwerin's storytelling to discover a journey from states to nations.

Catalog of Bioregional Primary Sources

The most inspired and excellent essays about bioregions.

These primary source articles define and explore the bioregional concept from a wide range of perspectives—environmental, economic, religious, political and urban. They were never widely distributed and are no longer easily available. Authors are major thinkers and activists including Doug Aberley, Peter Berg, Thomas Berry, Raymond Dasmann, Jim Dodge, Freeman House, Dolores LaChapelle, Stephanie Mills, Kirkpatrick Sale, Gary Snyder, etc.

Excellent for classroom use, researchers, libraries, historical archives and just plain folk.

Envisioning Sustainability

by Peter Berg
